Experiencias Latinoamericanas enriquecen a Bogotá

Se trataron temas como inclusión social, reducción de la pobreza y mejoramiento del hábitat

 

En el auditorio Huitaca, de la Alcaldía Mayor de Bogotá, tuvo lugar el Encuentro Internacional: Políticas Públicas de Inclusión Social, con la participación de funcionarios de las secretarías de Integración Social de México, Montevideo, Quito y Buenos Aires, quienes presentaron los casos de éxito en primera infancia, mujer, persona mayor, población habitante de calle, mejoramiento de hábitat y reciclaje.

 
El acontecimiento hizo parte de la Feria Social Urbana “La inclusión: ruta social hacia la paz”, y a este asistieron todos los sectores del Distrito para dar a conocer los avances en aspectos como reducción de la pobreza, superación de la desigualdad e inclusión social.
 

En el acto de instalación, el Alcalde Mayor Gustavo Petro, promovió el intercambio de experiencias, así como la transferencia de conocimientos en temas estratégicos para el Eje uno del Plan de Desarrollo de Bogotá, en el que se plantea la reducción de la segregación y la discriminación. “En nuestro modelo estamos generando un círculo virtuoso equitativo, que permite reducir los costos de vivir en la ciudad; reducir el costo de los servicios públicos y después el transporte, y así mismo bajar el servicio del aseo. Lo que estamos haciendo es una transferencia de ingreso de 300.000 millones de pesos, beneficiando a todos los ciudadanos, pero especialmente a los más pobres. Así se logra una caída de la pobreza extrema de la ciudad”, informó el Alcalde Mayor, quien agregó que con estas acciones se están generando actividades en ramas productivas de la economía como el comercio.
 

Paula Pérez Marquina, subsecretaria de Promoción Social del Gobierno de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, comentó como se vienen adelantando programas que buscan la inclusión, en especial, de la niñez en condición de vulnerabilidad.

 

“Lo que nosotros abordamos desde los centros de primera infancia, los cuales acogen a niños de hasta los cinco años, y hacen parte del Plan de Desarrollo Social de la ciudad -independientemente de que tengan sus maestros- es que tengan todo un abordaje familiar, así como una nutrición adecuada; acompañamiento con trabajadores sociales, psicoterapeutas, entre otros. Lo que se busca con esto es que a los cinco años, que es la edad de la escolaridad obligatoria, los niños y niñas lleguen en igualdad de condiciones a los demás niños de la ciudad”, explicó la funcionaria.

 
Por su parte, Gerardo Monteverde, asesor de la Dirección General del Departamento de Desarrollo Social de Montevideo, compartió la experiencia que ha tenido la ciudad en cuanto al tema de los recicladores: “Uno de problemas que tenía la ciudad, era la solución al tema de los residuos, y decidimos que esa gestión debíamos hacerla con inclusión social, y ello, cambiaba en gran medida la modalidad que se venía llevando. Como cualquier cambio que se produce en un sistema, al principio arraigó críticas, pero ha sido un éxito, ya que con el trabajo de entidades ambientales del Gobierno, no sólo, se ha mejorado el sistema, sino también las condiciones de vida de las personas que se dedican a la labor del reciclaje”.

La actividad culminó con la visita de los funcionarios invitados a las experiencias y trabajos de inclusión que viene realizando la Alcaldía de Bogotá, tales como el Jardín Acunar “Gabito”, inaugurado en la Localidad de San Cristóbal, así como los Centros de Atención LGTBI, adulto mayor y habitante de calle.
