Parques Urbanos: Una oportunidad para enfrentar el cambio climático
Expertos Nacionales e Internacionales presentaron experiencias exitosas de parques en grandes ciudades del mundo
Durante dos días la capital del país se vistió de verde y recibió a expertos de países como Estados Unidos, Francia, Austria, Brasil, Argentina y por supuesto Colombia quienes mediante exposiciones de casos exitosos de fortalecimiento y apropiación de los espacios naturales y zonas verdes en el mundo, resaltaron la importancia de estos en la calidad de vida de los habitantes, la preservación ambiental y social en un contexto de cambios climáticos que pueden afectar los ecosistemas locales, regionales y globales, así como el ejercicio de los derechos deportivos, recreativos y culturales.
El evento organizado por el Instituto Distrital de Recreación y Deporte (IDRD), se convirtió en un espacio participativo donde la ciudadanía junto con el sector académico y administrativo reflexionaron sobre tendencias y modelos exitosos e innovadores de sostenibilidad ambiental y cultural, implementados por ciudades con criterios de política pública en la adaptación local para enfrentar el cambio climático y mitigar los posibles impactos.
Martha Fajardo, experta Nacional en el tema de los parques, actualmente lidera la Iniciativa Latinoamericana del Paisaje LALI, cuyo objetivo es convertir los paisajes en una herramienta fundamental en los planes de ordenamiento territorial, planes de desarrollo así como en los planes locales, resaltó la necesidad de trabajar por mejorar los espacios verdes de la ciudad, ‘Queremos producir una sinergia, generar unos espacios del conocimiento de lo que está pasando en el mundo en el tema de los parques pero referenciados a los fenómenos como el cambio climático, el tema de cómo hacer espacios poli-funcionales, espacios donde la comunidad se sienta que está disfrutando en calidad de ese espacio verde y público, para ello hemos convocado a este grupo de expertos, con el fin de ayudar a la Administración Distrital en una nueva visión de parques más humanos, mas inclusivos y más bellos’, agregó.
El encuentro se convirtió en el espacio ideal para fomentar el aprendizaje, promoción, respeto y uso ordenado del medio ambiente urbano, natural y construido que representa el Sistema Distrital de Parques para Bogotá y el contexto regional, así mismo, evidenciar las fortalezas y oportunidades que tiene el sistema frente a modelos exitosos del mundo presentados por expertos internacionales como David Maddox, quien presentó una interesante conferencia sobre parques urbanos en la ciudad de Nueva York.
Igualmente el Foro fue un espacio propicio para que servidores públicos, contratistas, estudiantes y proveedores que intervienen en la adopción de políticas de espacio público, parques y reservas ambientales urbanas, compartieran conocimientos y experiencias locales, regionales y nacionales.
Dentro de los objetivos del Foro se buscó articular estrategias intersectoriales que faciliten la implementación de propuestas innovadoras en temas de sostenibilidad ambiental y cultural que atiendan e involucren la participación ciudadana en municipios y ciudades. Presentar casos exitosos de parques en el mundo y del Sistema Distrital de Bogotá asociados con acciones de mitigación en el cambio climático. Así como construir la red nacional de administradores de parques, con miras a gestionar la construcción de política pública participativa adaptada al cambio climático.
